The DESIGN ACT
Curate. Design. Learn.
Academic. Curator. Designer
My research interests involve design education, cross-disciplinary and cross-cultural aspects of design, as well how design is exhibited. I am interested in collaborative projects which question the boundaries we have created around the disciplines of art, design, architecture and culture studies.
Museums is another area of interest, where I am looking at possibilities of bringing the museum to the people, out of the rigid walls, and making museums a place of learning. I have successfully conducted workshops for mixed disciplinary groups of students, in which the lines are blurred between spatial design, sculpture, and visual expressions. Education and Curating are disciplines in which I have been awarded distinction.
Exhibition Reviews
“The exhibition is not a theoretical essay or treatise. It is typical instrument of dialogue with experts and the public, based on images, pathways, representations and its own manner of involvement. The exhibition is itself a work. (of architecture)”
-Paolo Baratta, Out There Architecture Beyond Building
Curating Design
“Design is to design a design to produce a design"
-John Heskett, Design: A Very Short Introduction
"..Objects have been around much longer than language and, when properly arranged, have innate powers to impact and inform."
